Ericsson Fully Integrated BACKHAUL
The expected growth in mobile broadband will have a massive impact on the backhaul network capacity and support for various flavors of radio access network. Concurrently, the long-established trend in backhaul networks for wireless media to replace copper will continue, as copper does not have adequate scalability to meet future demands. In addition, fiber will replace copper and wireless media where and when additional costs and deployment complexity can be justified.
The latest Ericsson MINI-LINK solution offers a highly compact and cost-efficient microwave node, as it has a 70% less footprint compared to today’s solution. It also offers market leading node and link capacities in all frequency bands (including the new V- and E-bands With the world´s smallest high power radio unit, outdoor terminal size can be minimized.
A combination of microwave and fiber based backhaul is needed for mobile networks on the road to 5G. Ericsson offers the right solution to achieve this combination: MINI-LINK and Router 6000. These products are fully integrated into the Ericsson Radio System and managed, end-to-end, by Ericsson Network Manager.
A new compact indoor unit and a new dual carrier all outdoor unit, for traditional frequency bands, are added to the portfolio. The Multi-band booster concept is also introduced to combine the best characteristics of different frequency bands to boost capacities, hop lengths and improved spectrum usage.
The new Router family spans from small cell site routers to larger aggregation routers, optimized for 10G and 100G capacities with best in class functionality and cost-effectiveness.
The new Ericsson Router 6000 family is an IP access and aggregation portfolio with advanced radio integration and is SDN enabled.
ERICSSON MINI-LINK INDOOR UNITS
Microwave indoor units for split configurations ranging from compact nodes for cell sites to high density node for aggregation sites and all indoor units for trunk applications.
The nodes use plug-in units, which make it easy to customize configurations and make future upgrades. The full range of MINI-LINK outdoor units can easily be combined in many different ways: traditional frequencies (6-42 GHz), V-band 60 GHz, E-band 70/80 GHz, single and dual carrier, Coax and Ethernet interface.
The MINI-LINK 6691/92 has a market leading switch capacity of 90 Gbps and can easily connect up to 16 radio link directions, in a very compact form factor.
A network node for the future requires high node capacity which means high capacity for switch, radio links and interfaces.
With 1, 2.5 and 10 GE interfaces, fiber rings and multi-Gbps E-band links can easily be connected to the node. The node supports radio links with high modulation of 4096 QAM and is prepared for future high capacity MIMO capabilities, which makes it well positioned on the road to 5G. The latest edition, MINI-LINK 6651, is an compact and cost-efficient end-node with dual carriers. It has 1 and 2.5 GE as well as E1 interfaces and has 10 Gbps switching capacity.
MINI-LINK TN is designed as a network product and it behaves as one network element per site, even though it handles multiple radio-links in several different directions. It is possible to modernize and expand the equipment without adding more complexity.
It also offers a cost effective solution onTDM to packet migration. The product is future proof with new NPU1 D with higher switch capacities, 10 G interfaces and IP routing functionality and with new MMU4 A supporting 4096 QAM and prepared for MIMO.
MINI-LINK CN is a compact and easy to install microwave transmission node built with simplicity in mind. MINI-LINK CN is optimized for end sites, single hops, and enterprise networks.
MINI-LINK LH is the Trunk product and it provides up to 4 Gbps over one antenna and is well suited for Mobile Backhaul. MINI-LINK LH contains an integrated high capacity Ethernet switch and Carrier GradeQuality of Service well suited for LTE and the evolution to all-IP.
Slots in the Access Module Magazine that are not used for the long haul radio link can be fitted with any type of short haul modems from MINI-LINK TN for TDM/SONET or Ethernet traffic. This integration reduces floor space, power consumption and number of network elements.

MINI-LINK is Ericsson's Microwave & Packet Aggregation offerings provide lowest cost of ownership whether for new mobile network rollouts, evolution of mobile networks, or fixed broadband over microwave.
Outdoor units supporting all outdoor and split configurations with Gbps capacities in traditional frequencies (6-42 GHz), V-band 60 GHz, E-band 70/80 GHz, single and dual carrier, Coax and Ethernet interface.

MINI-LINK 6363 and MINI-LINK RAU
Are examples of such radio units for traditional frequency bands, i.e. 6 to 42 GHz. MINI-LINK 6363 is now also supporting low-cost licensing E-band (70/80 GHz).
This makes it the world’s first split mount E-band radio, which can be used for easy upgrade of existing MINI-LINK nodes and for cost efficient new deployments together with the new compact MINI-LINK 6651 indoor unit.

MINI-LINK 6352 and MINI-LINK PT 6020
Are outdoor units for E-band, i.e. 70/80 GHz MINI-LINK 6352 supporting 5.5 Gbps capacity over 750 MHz channel.
MINI-LINK 6352 has an embedded L2 switch, enabling full aggregation and switching between all traffic ports, that makes it ideal for multiple combinations of mobile backhaul solutions. Support Multi-band Booster configurations.
MINI-LINK 6351 and MINI-LINK PT 3060
Are outdoor units for the V -band, i.e. 60 GHz MINI-LINK 6351 is an 1 Gbps microwave node optimized for small cell deployments.
The innovative design with integrated 60 GHz radio and antenna provides capacity, easy installation and minimum visual impact.

ERICSSON ROUTER 6000 SERIES
Mobile traffic volumes are expected to increase exponentially through 2020 and beyond. By 2020 it is expected a 22 fold increase of mobile video traffic putting stringent requirements in terms of capacity and performance on backhaul networks.
For mobile backhaul, the evolution from LTE to LTE-Advanced and 5G will increasingly demand higher capacity and lower latency capabilities from operators’ networks.
Therefore, backhaul networks need to be designed to absorb the expected rise in traffic volume utilizing routers with high capacity and radio-aligned advanced features at lowest possible latency.
Based on the GSMA 5G report, user terminal speeds are expected to exceed 1 Gbps. End-to-end latency of less than 10 ms will be required to enable delay-sensitive and interactive applications.

Ericsson Router 6371
Is an ultra-compact IP65 environmental hardened cell site router, designed to enable high quality network service delivery while at the same time lowering operating costs by its fan-less and filter-less design and by sharing the same installation practices and accessories as rest of Ericsson outdoor radio system.
This means the EricssonRouter 6371 can be rail, pole, wall and strand mounted in outdoor environments along with rest of Ericsson radio system components. It provides GE, 2.5GE and 10GE interfaces with small footprint and superior synchronization features.

Management and maintenance of TDM 1001 is done through the Router 6000 that hosts it. TDM 1001 can be software upgradable to support MLPPP in future roadmap. As TDM interfaces are being decommissioned gradually in networks, TDM 1001 solution with Router 6000 offers a graceful migration path where performance, capacity and space of routers need not be compromised to accommodate TDM interface requirements.
Like Router 6471, EricssonTDM 1001 is a compact and temperature hardened device that is easy to maintain as it is a fan-less and filter-less mechanical design. TDM 1001 can be placed in a hosting shelf with a Router 6471 that combined together only occupies 1RU space of an 19in wide shelf.
