Canopy LENS Antenna

The Canopy LENS Antenna enables service providers to provide reliable data and VOIP services in areas that could not previously be reached due to range limitations.

By increasing the range and focusing the antenna beam, the LENS allows service providers the ability to reach more subscribers and results in a reduction of external RF noise.

This compact yet durable product easily mounts directly onto existing Canopy radios and requires no additional mounting hardware.

  • Part Number: AN500
  • Frequency Range: 5.15 to 5.85GHz
  • Antenna Beam Width: 18º
  • Antenna Gain: ~16 dB in 5.2 & 5.4GHz band (Adds +9 dB to +7dB internal patch antenna) ~17 dB in 5.7GHz Band
  • (Adds +10 dB to +7dB internal patch antenna)
  • Weight: 1.75 lbs
  • Dimensions: 6.78" H (172.21mm) x 6.00" W (152.41mm)
  • Environmental: ROHS Compliant
  • *Specifications subject to change without notice.

Canopy Passive Reflector

The passive reflector dish mounts at the Canopy
Subscriber Module to extend the range of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Canopy systems.

With this accessory
and proper system planning network operators can more than double the connection distance from an Access Point (AP) to the Subscriber Module (SM).

Distances may vary based on terrain and other line-of-sight issues.

Canopy Surge Suppressor

The Surge Suppressor provides a path to ground (Protective Earth) that protects connected subscriber home equipment from near-miss lightning strikes.

Canopy Coverage Extender

The Coverage Extender provides simple, high performance expansion of a Canopy® network to serve potential end-customers outside of current wireless coverage range. The Coverage Extender enables service providers to deliver reliable VoIP and data service in areas that previously could not be cost effectively covered.

Many Canopy network operators find high-potential customers located just beyond the line-of-sight (LOS) of an Access Point (AP) or Access Point cluster, or within range, but in a coverage dead-zone, blocked by manmade or natural obstructions.

In such cases, the Coverage Extender can be deployed with a connected Canopy Subscriber Module (SM) at an intermediate location within range of both the end-customer, and the AP or AP cluster.

By connecting one or more additional AP's to the Coverage Extender at a non-interfering frequency, the coverage area can be expanded quickly, and bandwidth extended to capture new customer revenue opportunities.

The Coverage Extender is designed to be mounted outdoors within close proximity to the connected SM, The module comes with its own power supply and eliminates the need for individual power supplies for each connected Canopy device. This allows for a simple, "clean" deployment in a variety of situations.

The Coverage Extender enables network operators to reach new spaces. Motorola brings the Coverage Extender to market in development and cooperation with MemoryLink - The Personal Bandwith Company.

Canopy Cluster Management Module 3

For service providers it is critical to offer reliable services to their customers. The Cluster Management Module 3 (CMM3) allows network operators to reduce the time and labor cost of system installation and maintenance in Canopy Access Point Clusters.

This management module reduces cabling between system modules and provides reliable network synchronization.

There is only one cable going from the CMM3 to each module carrying the Ethernet connection, synchronization pulse and GPS data.

The foundation of the Motorola Canopy Wireless Broadband Platform is the Access Point Cluster, a powerful system that includes six Access Points.

The Cluster Management Module 3 provides power for the Canopy Access Point Cluster and includes an Ethernet switch and a GPS receiver. GPS synchronization is essential to achieving reduction in system self interference.

Designed to deliver consistent and reliable wireless broadband service, the Canopy system gracefully scales to support large deployments.

The management module is the heart of the system's synchronization capability which allows network operators to re-use frequencies and add capacity while ensuring consistency in the quality of service to customers.

As a result, subscribers can experience carrier-grade service - even those at the outer edge of the network.

Weighing only 8 pounds, the CMM3 can be installed quickly by one person reducing the time and cost associated with installation labor. The CMM3 can be placed on either a tower or in a convenient location which allows network operators more flexibility in placing network equipment.

Specifications
  • Max length any one radio can be from Cluster Management Module: 328 cable feet (100 Meters)
  • Max length from Cluster Management Module to GPS antenna: 100 cable feet (30.5 Meters)
  • Dimensions: 17.00" H x 12.88 " W x 6.50" D (43.18 cm H x 32.72 cm W x 16.51 cm D)
  • Weight: 25.0 lbs. (11.3 kg)
  • Operating Temperature: -40°F - +131°F (-40°C - +55°C)
  • Overall: Meets CE IP44 according to EN60529:2000
  • Specifications subject to change without notice.

Canopy Cluster Management Module 4

The Cluster Management Module 4 (CMM4) allows network operators to reduce the time and labour cost of system installation and maintenance in Canopy Access Point Clusters, the foundation of the Motorola Canopy Wireless Broadband Platform.

The CMM4 provides reliable network synchronisation with a more integrated solution.
  • 9 access ports
  • Full-featured switch
  • Gigabit Ethernet port
  • Integrated lightning surge suppression
Designed to deliver consistent and reliable wireless broadband service, the Canopy system gracefully scales to support large deployments.

The management module is the heart of the system's synchronisation capability which allows network operators to re-use frequencies and add capacity while ensuring consistency in the quality of service to customers.

As a result, subscribers can experience carrier-grade service - even those at the outer edge of the network.

Additional Ports
The CMM4 offers one addition port for a total of nine ports. There are eight 10/100Base-T ports and one copper 10/100/1000Base-T port.

Full-Featured Switch
The CMM4 can be managed with a Network manager using SNMP, Web Browser, Telnet or the console port. It supports Port-based VLAN and IEEE802.1Q VLAN Tagging and GVRP.

Gigabit Ethernet Port
In many cases network operators need to provide high speed data. For network operators using high speed point-to-point links this is critical. The CMM4 now has a single Gigabit Ethernet port for terrestrial feeds or high speed links.

Integrated GPS Lightning Suppression
The CMM4 comes standard with a built-in GPS lightning suppression system. In addition to this built in feature the CMM4 also supports dual power supply input redundancy. (Power supply sold separately.)

In addition to the CMM4, Motorola also offers the CMM3. The CMM3 has a smaller enclosure and reduces the time and cost associated with installation labour.
